Michigan Nonprofit Association is pleased to announce a scholarship program for the 2009 Independent Sector Annual Conference, which will be held in partnership with the Council of Michigan Foundations on November 4-6, 2009 at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. This program is generously sponsored by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation. The scholarship program is designed provide an opportunity for leaders of small Michigan-based charitable organizations to participate in an exceptional learning and networking event.
Chief executives and nonprofit leaders from charitable organizations with budgets of $5 million or less are eligible to apply. There will be special programming offered at the conference that is geared toward young professionals (nonprofit leaders under the age of 40). Applicants who fit the above criteria are encouraged to apply. Awardees must participate in the entire conference.
Two types of scholarships will be awarded: 1 – Full Conference Scholarships – this scholarship will cover the full conference registration fee as well as a two night stay at the conference hotel on November 4 and 5, 2009. This scholarship is available ONLY for those whose organization’s office is outside the seven county metro Detroit region (Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Monroe, St. Clair, and Washtenaw). 2 – Conference Registration Scholarships – this scholarship will cover the registration fee only and does not include housing.
